Putting a screen on your face
is the easy part.
Reading your body from it is not.

Every other frame on the market is a display looking out. Theora is a sensor looking in, which is a harder problem: holding a clean pulse against bone, all day, on a face that moves and sweats and talks. That is not a first attempt. Two decades of wearable optics and head-mounted hardware sit on this team, breadboard through production tooling, and our hardware lead has already taken AR headsets off a bench and into a manufactured product once. Our optics advisor holds an endowed chair at one of the oldest optics institutes in the country, and the near-infrared retinal camera comes out of that lab. The frames themselves are built by a manufacturer who has been making waveguide eyewear at volume for years, not in a garage.

Dual cameras at eye level, a four-mic array, and a waveguide that answers back into one eye, running while you go about your day and feeding one agent that already knows what your week looks like. FERAL  /  the brain behind the glasses

The glasses are the sensor.

Without it these are a camera and a pulse reader. FERAL is the private, local-first agent that turns those signals into something that acts, and the longer you wear the glasses, the better it gets. Step around the loop.

It runs on your phone, not ours

Local-first by design. Your body data and everything the agent remembers stay on your own devices. Nothing is uploaded by default, nothing is sold, and there is no advertising model on the other end of it.

Every readout is anchored to something

A step nudge belongs on a staircase. A decibel reading belongs on the thing making the noise. A meeting belongs on the door you are walking toward. Floating body data over a random building is the tell that a demo was faked, so nothing here appears anywhere it could not be earned by what is actually in front of you.

What to shoot for the real thing

One 360° still per location, taken at eye height with any consumer 360 camera, plus a note of what is worth pointing at in each. The HUD is drawn in the browser, so the readouts can change without a reshoot, but the anchor points have to be chosen by someone who looked at the frame.

The second
Theora is a system.

The frames get full-color optics and a camera turned around, aimed at the retina. A band reads pressure and an ECG lead at the wrist. A node behind the ear reads the brain. One runtime reads all three at once, which is the part nobody else is positioned to do. That runtime is FERAL today, and THEORA OS is what it becomes when the hardware around it is a system rather than one pair of glasses.

Why it is worth a regulatory path

Theora Pro

Full-color waveguide optics, and a near-infrared camera pointed the other way, at the retina, the one place in the body where blood vessels can be watched without cutting. The camera it depends on is built in the Rochester lab our optics advisor runs.

Diabetic retinopathy is damage to the vessels of the retina, and it is a leading cause of preventable blindness in working-age adults. It is silent until sight is already going, and catching it means a clinic appointment once a year that most people never make. The frame is aimed at the part of the eye that shows it first.

Glucose is not something glasses measure. It is something they can read from the patch already on your arm: THEORA OS pairs with the continuous monitor a diabetic person is wearing anyway, so what the sensor knows and what the retina shows arrive at one agent instead of two apps that never speak.

The ear node

A biopotential electrode that sits behind the ear, on the skin, reading the brain rather than the heart. It attaches at the end of the temple arm and tucks in where nothing is visible from the front. Earliest of the three, and the one we make the fewest promises about.

Why it is not a second pair of glasses

Every sensor is a node.

A new capability registers over one protocol. A retina module or a pressure module joins the runtime the glasses are already running, and the agent gains a signal it did not have yesterday. Configuration, not a rebuild. That is the whole reason Pro is an upgrade path and not a second company.

The path

Lite ships first. Everything else lands on it.

Each stage unlocks the next, and every module that clears arrives on hardware people are already wearing. That is the whole advantage of building the platform before the clinical products: the install base is in place before the first clearance is. We show the order rather than dates, because the order is the part we control.
