Founding Access Application Terms
Draft for review · Version theora-program-2026-10-19-v4 · 19 October 2026
These terms cover registering interest in Theora’s development-stage Founding Access program. They do not create a device purchase, guaranteed allocation or shipping contract. The program is operated by the Theora team; contact info@theora.io. Device eligibility and allocation conditions still require confirmation before any hardware offer.
Applications and existing registrations
Apply with your name, email and phone number including its country code. Verify your email to complete registration. Phone ownership is verified later, before shipping any allocated glasses. A saved but email-unverified application is not a completed registration. One verified email identity belongs to one registration. A supplied phone alone is not proof of identity: repeat phone numbers trigger review, and the same verified phone cannot authorize shipment for multiple registrations. Your application, email verification, approval, founder order and hardware allocation are separate. Existing registrations are included for priority review within the initial batch; they are not automatically verified or approved. Original paid-reservation agreements and rights remain separate and unchanged. Email-less offline reservations require an identity check; we do not merge people by name alone.
The initial cohort
There are 200 initial approved founder places. Founder places 1–100 receive two single-use cohort invitations after approval; places 101–200 receive one each. This allows up to 300 additional approved invited participants and 500 potential participants overall. Referred participants cannot issue cohort invitations. Founder place order is assigned at completed email verification, preserving earlier priority places; staff approval remains separate. The proposed 600-device budget ceiling does not promise 600 allocations; its additional 100 remain unallocated.
Admission and sharing
Public registration opens first. When founder capacity is booked, ordinary visitors join the waitlist. An administrator may also close public founder admission. Valid unused cohort invitations can still be redeemed during invitation-only admission, subject to capacity and review. A waitlist-only phase pauses cohort redemption. Registrants who have completed email verification can share a separate waitlist link. It never grants a cohort place, glasses, additional cohort invitations or rewards. Public entry closes at 1,000 program registrations. Thereafter, a single-use member invitation is required, up to a maximum of 3,000 total registrations.
Included cloud and ownership
Recipients keep any separately allocated glasses. Proposed included cloud access is three months for founder places 1–100 and one month for places 101–200 and approved referred recipients. It starts only when delivered, allocated glasses are activated. Afterward, recipients may separately choose a cloud plan currently proposed at $30/month. Applying never authorizes a payment, automatic charge or renewal. Annual discounts and referral rewards are not offered. This is cloud-first; no unverified offline AI, local capability or integration is promised. Confirmed functions and requirements will be provided before an allocation is accepted.
Shipping and eligibility
Shipping is targeted for 2027. Devices are not available for immediate delivery. Applying or receiving an invitation does not guarantee a pair. If selected for a hardware allocation, we’ll contact you later to confirm eligibility and request your shipping address. Production, component availability, certification and funding remain conditions. Phone verification is required before shipment can be confirmed. We do not require an SMS code to complete registration. Eligible countries, minimum age, shipping costs, taxes/duties, response deadlines, warranty/support and delay/cancellation arrangements must be settled and disclosed before a hardware allocation is offered. No such charge or deadline is imposed by this application.
Invitations, messages and withdrawal
Cohort invitations are issued only after email verification and founder approval. They are single use; an invitation is redeemed only when its recipient completes email verification and registration. Referred participants receive no further cohort invitations. Automatic cohort-invitation expiry is not enabled; any later policy must be announced. Staff may manually release an incomplete, unredeemed claim after review. Its old code stops working, the same invitation slot returns to its original founder and the incomplete applicant moves to the waitlist. Already redeemed slots are not recycled. No automatic invitation expiry policy has been approved. Email verification links have a separate 24-hour security expiry. Email and SMS codes expire after 10 minutes. Request another code after 60 seconds; attempts and sends are limited. Operational verification texts do not authorize marketing. Verification and application messages are operational. Optional marketing is separate and unnecessary for applying. Verified applicants may withdraw and request access or deletion through their member page or info@theora.io. Original paid rights remain separate. Applying is not consent to health-data collection, model training, data resale or future research.
Registration order and capacity
Registration numbers and founder, invited-participant and waitlist positions are separate from staff approval and hardware allocation. The first 200 eligible ordinary registrations receive founder place numbers in completed email-verification order, after recognized earlier priority records. Existing approved founder positions are preserved. Founder places 1–100 carry the proposed three-month cloud offer and two cohort invitations after approval; places 101–200 carry one month and one cohort invitation after approval. Trials start at delivered-device activation. Up to 300 cohort invitees receive separate invited positions and no cohort invitations. They do not count against the 200 founder places. Hardware remains conditional on separately confirmed funded allocation.
Public registration closes at 1,000 program entries, including recognized earlier records. Further new entrants need an unused member invitation, within a hard cap of 3,000 total entries across all groups. Valid cohort invitations remain separate. Waitlist invitations grant only waitlist entry, not glasses, rewards or founder benefits. Each link can be claimed by one applicant and is consumed when email-verified registration completes. One unused waitlist link is available per member at a time; a new single-use link can be created after use. Automatic invitation expiry is not enabled. Withdrawal does not recycle a claimed position. Unverified submissions receive no position. If verification finishes after the public cutoff without an eligible invitation, the email remains verified but registration requires an invitation and available capacity.
