The technology inside Theora
Two systems, one frame: a sensor array that reads your body and environment continuously, and FERAL, a local-first hub that turns those readings into action through your glasses, phone, and connected devices.
Sensor array
Lite ships with a 6-axis IMU, 12MP front camera, four mics, and a single-eye waveguide HUD. Temple wellness modules (heart rate, SpO₂, skin temp, UV) and ocular signals (blink, gaze) integrate into the platform as the suite rolls out.
Why glasses
Wristbands already track heart rate, SpO₂, and skin temperature well. Theora's edge is eye-level I/O, a 12MP environment camera, and agentic orchestration through FERAL and HUP.
| Capability | Wristband | Theora |
|---|---|---|
| Heart rate, SpO₂ & skin temp | Yes | Yes, wellness suite |
| 12MP front-camera environment | No | Yes, in frame |
| Waveguide HUD + 4 mics | No | Yes, in frame |
| Blink, gaze & eye tracking | No | Target · suite |
| Health + environment correlation | Limited | Yes, via FERAL |
| Agentic device orchestration | Limited | Yes, FERAL + HUP |

Hardware
IMU, camera, mics, and HUD sit in a lightweight frame under 50g. Wellness modules integrate at the temple as the suite ships. Glasses sense and display; your phone bridges heavier compute; FERAL interprets locally and coordinates action.
FERAL, the agentic brain
FERAL is the local-first orchestration hub that powers Theora. Glasses are sensors and I/O. Your phone bridges heavier compute. FERAL doesn't wait for you to ask a question. It keeps memory, notices change, and takes gated action across your environment via HUP (Hardware Unification Protocol).
FERAL connects glasses, phone, and physical devices in your environment. Pair with coding tools, route a care request to a home robot, or alert a Roomba when the front camera sees a spill.
Hardware Unification Protocol lets every sensor and device register as a node. New capabilities are configuration, not a rebuild.
FERAL remembers your trends over weeks and months, not just the last five minutes, so it can tell a bad night's sleep from a real pattern.
Baselines are personal. FERAL calibrates to your body instead of comparing you to a population average.
Every real-world action, a nudge, a summary, a notification, passes through a policy you control. Nothing acts silently.
"Note that." "Summarize what I just heard." A voice companion that works without pulling out a phone.

The longer you wear it, the better FERAL knows you, and the more useful its actions become.

Private by design
FERAL is local-first and open-source (Apache-2.0), currently in public beta on macOS & Linux. Your body data and the agent's memory stay on your devices by default, never harvested into an ad model. Every new sensor and device registers over HUP, configuration, not a rebuild.
